The Cedar Bayou Navigation District (the "District") is composed of seven directors. Five directors, Positions 1 through 5 are appointed by the Commissioners Court of Chambers County. Positions 1 and 2 must be representatives of a company in the District that has the highest and second highest taxable value of real and personal property in the District. Positions 3 and 4 must be representatives of a company in the district that owns real or personal property that has a taxable value of at least $25,000,000 but less than $250,000,000. One director, Position 6, is appointed by the Mayor of the City of Baytown. One director, Position 7, is appointed by the City Council of the City of Baytown. Directors serving in Positions 6 and 7 must be at least 18 years of age and be residents of the City of Baytown.
Mr. Jack Adcox was first appointed to Position 7 as the City Council Appointee and approved by the City Council on August 9, 2007. He should have been re-appointed for a second time on May 1, 2019; and he is seeking reappointment at this time. Should Mr. Adcox be appointed for another 6-year term, his term will expire on May 1, 2025.
