The applicant is proposing to rezone approximately 3.28 acres of land From SFE to GC in order to have enough land to relocate Community Honda from the northeast corner of John Martin and Interstate Highway 10 (IH 10). In addition to the 3.28 acres, the property owner will assemble the northern adjacent 4.69 acres of the Huron Subdivision in order to receive direct access from the interstate. The total development will be approximately eight (8) acres and both properties are currently vacant. These northern parcels are already zoned GC.
The requested zoning district and proposed use aligns with the Future Land Use Plan (FLUP) allowing for commercial zoning along this corridor.
