Consider a resolution authorizing the City of Baytown to submit a grant application to the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance, for the FY 2020 Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding Program Solicitation.
This proposed resolution authorizes the City of Baytown (the "City") to submit a grant application to the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance, for the FY 2020 Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding Program Solicitation.
The Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding ("CESF") Program will provide funding to assist eligible states, local units of government, and tribes in preventing, preparing for, and responding to the coronavirus. If approved, the City will receive $63,737 for personal protective equipment for front-line first responders including N95 respirators, face shields, masks, gloves and decontamination equipment.
The funding amount of $63,737.00 is a formula-based allocation from the U.S. Department of Justice and requires no matching funds from the City; however, leveraging other funding is encouraged.

This is a formula-based allocation from the Dept. of Justice. If funded, the awards may be drawn down into an interest bearing account in advance of any grant related expenditure or the City may pay for any grant related items and subsequently request reimbursement from the CESF Program. There is no local match required; however, a local match is encouraged.
